About Golden Temple:

The Golden Temple, or Sri Harminder Sahib, stands as the spiritual and cultural heart of Sikhism in Amritsar, India. Adorned with intricate marble work and a golden leaf-covered dome, the architectural masterpiece surrounds the sacred Amrit Sarovar. Founded by Guru Ram Das and completed by Guru Arjan Dev in the 16th century, the temple enshrines the Guru Granth Sahib, Sikhism's holy scripture. Beyond its physical beauty, the Golden Temple embodies Sikh principles of equality and selfless service through its langar, a community kitchen offering free meals to all. The continuous recitation of Gurbani and the spiritual resonance of kirtan fill the air, creating an atmosphere of devotion and unity. Adjacent to the temple is the Akal Takht, the highest temporal seat, and the complex includes the Isher Niwas residential area. Beyond its religious significance, the Golden Temple stands as a symbol of inclusivity, peace, and the rich cultural heritage of the Sikh community.
